Looking for a chance to spend quality time with the kids might be no further than one of Portland’s beautiful parks. This fall the leaves are putting on a display of color. Walking among the trees of Mt. Tabor Park I spied this beautiful tree. I snapped a few photos to share with YOU… hoping to encourage you and your child to take a walk.
Looking for a way to elevate your heart rate? Try walking up the long flights of stairs to the top of Mt. Tabor. Just meandering the trails for a gradual adventure is also and option. It is fun to see what parks have in terms of a play structures and capture photos of the kids to send to grandparents and special friends. Memories made exploring out doors in some of Portland’s beautiful parks can reinforce children’s understanding of community, maps and how Lewis School fits into this city we call home. We certainly have wonderful proximity to many great outdoor spaces. I would love hear from students and parents of where they have explored lately and be reminded of our cities treasured green spaces. Drop me a note firstname.lastname@example.org or stop me in the hall. I would be happy to hear where you have walked and what you recommend.
