Box Tops for Education order arrives.

Many thanks to all of you who save Box Tops for our school.  Today the kids opened and inflate new balls.  We look forward using nice soft skinned balls to play games more safely.  The colorful rubber bouncy balls smelled like new tires exclaimed one student.  Those will be a welcome relief to those small hands who have had to use hard basketballs when practicing dribbling and catching.

1st graders worked on Just Dance songs such as Get Your Silly’s Out and the Hamster Dance.  They also reviewed where the practice 4 square game is played at lunch recess, how to share jump ropes and the pig / fish relay.  These are all games kids have access to at recess.

4th and 5th graders finished their basketball unit with Chase.  A game where you have to stay ahead of the basketball shooter following you though a 3 baskets route.  As one child exclaimed the game is INTENSE.  We also reviewed what Good Sportsmanship looks like as sometimes we assume everyone knows.  For more ideas on Good Sportsmanship  please look at the following link. http://www.urmc.rochester.edu/encyclopedia/content.aspx?ContentTypeID=1&ContentID=4524
